Salmon Cove Summer Internship Program - Marketing Position


The Salmon Cove Marketing Internship Position offers a wealth of on-the-job experience that will complement your classroom learning and bolster your resume.  Our interns will gain first-hand insight into marketing, public relations and media, as well as the day-to-day functions at a small, fast growing fashion company. Our program enables students to develop confidence and marketable skills in a real life business setting that focuses on teaching and communication to make our time together dually beneficial.

What You’ll Be Doing
Salmon Cove interns get to experience the full breadth of marketing responsibilities inside a small company.  Interns will have the opportunity to work on several different projects in concert with the co-founders.  In addition you will also have FUN and live our tag-line to always “swim against the current".

Where and When
Our office is located in the River North area three blocks from the Merchandise Mart purple and brown line L stop.  The summer internship is 10-30 hours/week, for 12 weeks.  This is an unpaid, for-credit position.  Academic credit requirements must be met and prior approval be made by your academic institution.

Responsibilities include:
-  Attending meetings with buyers and designers
- Draft media materials
- Research possible media opportunities and conduct outreach to secure coverage for Salmon Cove products
-  Analyzing PR opportunities with boutique retail stores
-  Assist in quarterly marketing reports including financial impact
-  Discover and research non-profit partnerships

What We Are Looking For
Salmon Cove is looking for outgoing, articulate students who are conscientious, hard-working, and have good writing skills.  Most importantly, applicants should have a hunger to learn and a strong interest in the fashion industry  A major in public relations, journalism, business or marketing is desired.  Applicants must be currently enrolled in a full-time university to be eligible for this internship.
